Elizabeth TynanElizabeth Tynan is an academic at the James Cook University Graduate Research School, a freelance science writer and editor, co-author of the textbook Media and Journalism: New Approaches to Theory and Practice, now in its 3rd edition, and of Communication for Business. Her most recent book Atomic Thunder: The Maralinga Story received the 2017 Prime Minister's Literary Award for Australian History. A former journalist, she was a reporter at the ABC and a correspondent for New Scientist. She has also worked as a writer and editor at CSIRO, the ANU and the Australian Institute of Marine Science.
